About Dr. Norman B. Edgerton, Jr.

Dr. Norman B. Edgerton, Jr. received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida, and his Medical Degree from the University of Florida in 1973.
He completed his Internship and Residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa. He is Board Certified in Gastroenterology.


Dr. Edgerton has a special interest in the following areas:

  • Endoscopy
  • Colonoscopy for Colon Cancer Screening and Surveillance
  • Swallowing Disorders
  • GE Refux, including Barrett's Esophagus
  • Evaluation of Gastrointestinal Bleeding, Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn's Disease and Chronic Diarrhea

Dr. Edgerton is a member of the following Organizations:

  • Florida Gastroenterologic Society
  • American Association of Physicians and Surgeons

Dr. Edgerton is on the Staffs of St. Joseph's Hospital and the Tampa Bay Endoscopy Center. The office is centrally located on W Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd, one block east of St. Joseph Hospital.
